Stewart's Draft, Virginia-My World Tuesday
We took a drive to Stewart's Draft last week to visit The Cheese Shop; about a hour and a few minutes drive from our home and off Interstate 81 heading north. Snow still on the ground and temps in the 30-40s. Beautiful drive. The Cheese Shop was a disappointment as was the food at their sister shop. We've found that anything that locals tend to talk-up is usually not up to our expectations. Needless to say, we won't be returning.
Do stop by and visit us at MY WORLD TUESDAY and see the best photographs from all over the world by some of the most wonderful photographers out there. The meme is hosted by Klaus and the meme world team including Sandy, The Fishing Guy, Wren, Sylvia and Louise.
Marvelous, wintry captures! As usual, I love the bare tree against the sky, and the old barn is so picturesque! Hope you have a great week!

I love the fence row, Erin. Glad you got the photos since the shops didn't meet expectations.
ReplyDeleteSorry you were disappointed in the food, but those photos are wonderful winter scenes.
ReplyDeleteSorry you were disappointed in the Cheese Shop. We used to stop by there on our way to visit daughter when she was in college in late 90's and early 2000. I would always load up on their spices and mixes.
ReplyDeleteInteresting winter shots.
ReplyDeleteSydney - City and Suburbs
Too bad they disappointed you but those shots are great.
ReplyDeleteGreat winter shots.
ReplyDeleteAt least you took two wonderful photos. I don’t know which photo I like more. The details and the composition on both photos are so beautiful. Your photos always have some special look and feeling.
ReplyDeleteIn your comment on my post you asked was it a water fall in the back of the last photo. No, it is only a rapid. I guess you are now sleeping because it is late at night there. Have wonderful dreams my friend!:-)
It certainly is a beautiful tour! The winter photos are excellent! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeletetruly wonderful images. another place wandered. thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteToo bad the Cheese shop was up to par. Lucky for us you got a couple of great photographs. I love winter, when its not to darn cold.
ReplyDeleteToo bad The Cheese didnt cut it ... but those pix are sensational so IMO, for what that's worth, the trip was a success!
ReplyDeleteWow!These are splendid.

ReplyDeleteWonderful pictures... to bad the food was not as expected.
ReplyDeleteA winter beauty!
ReplyDeleteYou take amazing photos. What a beautiful place.
ReplyDeleteSorry about the cheese shop, but the drive was worth it for these gorgeous photos. I love that first one and the way the fence curves instead of going straight. Very nice composition, my friend.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the wonderful comments, encouragement, and words of advice you've been giving me. They are much appreciated :)
I hope you're having a beautiful week, Erin,
~Lisa
Lovely shots of the tree with the dark fence and the old barn in snow. Too bad the food wasn't up to snuff.
ReplyDeleteToo bad you had a bad experience on your trip. Your snowy photos are really neat.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteI think there is one bird in that leafless tree. ;)
The gray skies add drama to your photos Erin.
ReplyDeleteLooks chilly, stay warm!
Beautiful shots! I do enjoy your excursions through the Shenandoah. My granddad was born in Amherst County and my Dad spent some of his early years in Lynchburg and Collierstown. The names are familiar and I have been to some of them. We now travel I-81/I-77 at least once a year and I find it a much more enjoyable trip than I-95. Thanks for your comments on My World.
ReplyDeleteYour world looks freezing but the pictures are beautiful ! Bad luck with the cheese shop, that happens sometimes.
ReplyDeleteYour beautiful pics just makes this Ozarks farm chick want to grab a cup of hot cocoa and go curl up by the fire. All the snow finally melted yesterday here on the Ponderosa. Ya'll captured quite the winter wonderland there.
ReplyDeleteAs we say down here in the hills and hollers, ya'll have a wonderfully blessed day!!!
These are wonderful! Was the cheese good? :-D
ReplyDeleteWHat a beautiful old barn and nature helped make it even prettier!
